This was from a couple of weeks ago, but I forgot to post it. I got a reference question via a phone call asking how to go about donating your body to science, specifically to UF. I thought that was just so cool! So in case you are interested, here is the site that talks about it. Body Donation ~~Marina

I just ILL'ed a book from the public library and have really enjoyed it. Thought I would pass it on. The title is Our Iceberg is Melting by John Kotter, 2005. It's a fable about penguins and is subtitled: Changing and Succeeding Under Any Conditions. Ranks right up there with Who Moved My Cheese, and The One-Minute Manager. Kathy.

This really isn't an ILL or reference question, but a found object in the library. I guess finals are getting harder around here for our students!

I had an interesting copyright question from the College of Nursing. A speaker at a conference wanted copies of her article made available to conference participants. I originally thought that although she was the author that she had signed away copyright to the publisher and that to make a 100 or so copies that it would require obtaining permission from the publisher. The publisher was Elsivier so you know that they would not give it for free. I went to the CCC site and the cost was high. Then I found this page on the Elsivier site. http://www.elsevier.com/wps/find/supportfaq.cws_home/rightsasanauthor They actually allow the author to keep some ownership of the copyright and there are certain things the author has permission to do. Short story she has the right to make those copies for distribution at the conference she is speaking at without paying copyright fees.
